What is unique about The Lounge Heat

Radiant Heat

At the yoga lounge we use radiant heat to warm our students. Radiant heat is a gentle heat (used in incubators for babies) that warms the body from the inside out. Similar to the rays of the sun, radiant heat warms objects rather than air to create a more even heat throughout the studio preventing the forced air effect you can sometimes feel in hot studios.

Its is also the most efficient form of heat available. Significantly less operating time is required to maintain the desired warmth compared to furnaces and other methods of heating keeping operational costs and therefore environmental impact to a minimum.

Ventilation

Its not enough to just heat the room to 38/40 degrees. Students need to have a fresh air/oxygen supply to ensure that they are getting maximum cardiovascular benefits. In fact building regulations recommend two times of air changes an hour for a healthy working environment so we believe our students should have at least this when practicing yoga. We have therefore installed a high tech ventilation system that uses heat recovery technology to ensure the fresh incoming air is maintained at the correct temperature.

Humidity

Combining the heat with students sweating will effect the humidity of the room. Ensuring the correct level of humidity is maintained is paramount, too much will leave students sweating a lot feeling sick and not getting the benefits, The reasons for the humidity level include inducing a faster heart rate, which promotes cardiovascular health; improving blood circulation through thinning of the blood; and releasing tension in the muscles to allow for a deeper stretch. Our ventilation system is equipped with humidifier technology to maintain the correct levels.

Studio 2

The Pilates studio (93m2/1000 sq ft) .

Studio 3

It is a magnificent space suitable for workshops, photo shoots, martial arts training, performing arts rehearsals, exhibitions and many other activities.

We have a comfortable reception/waiting area, changing rooms with showers and lockers, and a restaurant area on the ground floor for special teas, coffee and snacks.
